Darrell Lundin is the author of the Adventures of Toes the Kitten series — picture books inspired by the real rescue cats who share his home.
Every cat in this series was once a stray. Darrell and his wife took them in one by one, and watched something remarkable happen: cats with no shared history became an unbreakable family.
Toes — the heart of the series — is what his family lovingly calls a forever kitten. Despite being fully grown, he has never gotten any bigger and still carries the wide-eyed wonder of the six-month-old kitten who first came in from the cold. He has no idea he's supposed to be a grown-up. His brothers have stopped trying to tell him.
Darrell lives with his wife and their ever-growing rescue cat family, who continue to provide endless inspiration — and occasional chaos.
